Palm Social Named 2026 Charleston Choice Finalist

We got the kind of news this month that makes you stop, re-read the email, and then read it out loud to the rest of the team. Palm Social has been named a 2026 Charleston Choice finalist in the Advertising Agency category.

Charleston Choice is decided by the people who live and work here. It is not a panel of judges in another city deciding what good marketing looks like. It is Lowcountry residents, business owners, and neighbors naming the companies they actually trust. That distinction matters to us more than any industry trophy would.

What This Recognition Actually Means

Awards can be easy to dismiss. Plenty of them are pay-to-play. This one is not. Charleston Choice finalists earn their spot because enough real people in this community put their name forward.

For a small agency, that is meaningful in a very specific way. We are not the biggest shop in Charleston. We do not have a downtown high-rise or a sales team cold-calling local businesses. What we have is a client roster that talks about us to other people. Being named a finalist tells us that word of mouth is working, and that the work is landing with the people it was made for.

The Work Behind the Nomination

We spent the last year doing the unglamorous parts of this job well. Showing up to shoot a restaurant's dinner service on a Tuesday night. Rebuilding content calendars when a client's busy season shifted. Answering the DMs nobody else wanted to answer. Flying the drone at six in the morning because that is when the light over the harbor is right.

None of that is the kind of thing that goes in a case study deck. But it is the reason clients stay, and it is the reason our name ended up on a ballot.

We also leaned harder into video this year. Short-form has become the front door for most Charleston businesses, and we built our production process around getting clients a real library of footage instead of a handful of one-off posts. That shift showed up in our clients' numbers, and we think it showed up in this nomination too.

Why Local Recognition Beats National Rankings

There are directories that will rank you as a "top agency" for a fee. We have never bought one. A local nomination is harder to game and worth more, because the people voting have actually seen the work in their own feeds.

Charleston is a small market in the best way. Restaurant owners know venue owners. Realtors know photographers. Reputation travels fast in both directions here. When a business chooses an agency in this city, they are usually asking someone they trust first. Being a finalist puts us in that conversation.

What We Are Doing With It

Honestly, not much. We are not putting a badge on every page of the website or leading sales calls with it. The nomination is a signal that we are pointed in the right direction, not a reason to change what we are doing.

What it does do is raise the bar internally. There is a version of this where an agency gets recognized and starts coasting on it. We would rather treat it as a baseline. The clients who nominated us expect the same work next year, and the ones who have not hired us yet should get a reason to.

Thank You, Charleston

We started Palm Social because we thought Charleston businesses deserved content that looked as good as the city does. Getting named a finalist by this community is the clearest sign yet that the idea was right.

To every client who trusted us with their brand, every business owner who sent a referral, and everyone who put our name on a ballot: thank you. We know exactly how many other options you had.
